Solar Study 001
An Earth that never repeats itself.
Geography stays fixed. Light does not. Solar Study 001 uses the current position of the Sun to turn the moving boundary between daylight and night into a continuously changing composition.

Geography, light and time as one system.
The artwork runs on the same Earth renderer developed for Across Hours, but removes the utility interface. What remains is the visual system itself: a live planet, current solar geometry and an authored viewpoint.

Time becomes visible before it becomes numerical.
Solar Study began with a practical question inside Across Hours: could world time be understood spatially instead of as a list of offsets? The answer produced an image with a life beyond the utility that created it.
The Earth is not animated from a prerecorded sequence. The light boundary is recalculated from the real solar state, so the work changes with the hour, the season and the date on which it is experienced.
